Both tracks on the More Attention EP have that pungent early '90s garage perfume about them, led out by "My Love Is Burning." It begins with churchy organ stabs—think Stereo's mid-'90s breakbeat house classic, "Spooky"—and heavy bass kicks, eventually roaring off to the thrilling accompaniment of Italo pianos and whip-cracking 808 claps. It's so authentic you have to pinch yourself that it hasn't just been recovered by builders having been dropped down the back of the Sound Factory DJ booth by Vasquez or Knuckles. "More Attention" is a more plaintive affair, Jenna G's soul diva vocal slowly brought into the mix, before blooming into life alongside the smoky pads and percussive chiming synth refrain. There's even some Nightcrawler-ish digital sax tooting for good measure. Retro then? Maybe—but also blissfully, euphorically good.
