  • The highlight of the evening? Hands down it was Infusion. Originating from Australia, this trio has been ripping through North America with Dave Seaman as a promotional push for Seaman’s label Audiotherapy. This was their second appearance in Chicago and was undoubtedly more successful than the first. They came on at peak time – 12:45 am, right after the opening DJs tag-teamed some ridiculously high-energy tribal tracks. The crowd was playful and ready to have a good time. Live PA groups have complained about the lack-luster crowds seen only in the states, but this night was different. Infusion maintained the energy of the opening set by threading heavier and darker loops of various basslines and kick drums, but lacked change throughout 2/3 of their set; the occasional drops of melodies did not play-out long enough for one to appreciate. Half-hour stretch It was in the last half-hour that Infusion raised the notch by changing the flow of their set with a breaks track and continued to build the music, the mood and the energy to a spine-tingling finale where everyone in the room began jumping up and down, shouting and cheering the boys to a close.
