- Released this time last year, Trikk's Jointly 12-inch for George Fitzgerald's ManMakeMusic should have been bigger than it was. The A-side's simple counterbalance of bounding drops and chattering snares made for a surefire party starter. Bruno Deodato now returns to ManMakeMusic with two new cuts.
The title track shifts towards a percussively denser sound that's lit by acid stabs and streaking pads. The wailing vocal is a little Chicago-by-numbers, but on the whole it's a likeable number that proves Deodato can switch it up. "Rounded" is a slightly more run-of-the-mill deep house track, but the late introduction of a sub-line gives the second half some much needed character. A belting dub rework of "Basement Traxx" by Lando (he's dropped the Kal) leans on his penchant for metalwork clank and low-end thrust.
