Heineken presents Thirst @ Home – Daniel Davoli, Pete Tong and Tiesto

  • A line-up that includes Pete Tong, Tiesto and Daniel Davoli usually means two things – a huge night and massive queues! Not on Saturday though, the fantastic organisation of the night meant that we basically walked straight into the club within 2 minutes of arriving at the terrace gate. A change in the line up meant that Daniel Davoli and Ms Motif were moved from the terrace to the main room with Mark Dynamix and Goodwill replacing them on the Terrace. Dynamix was playing on the Terrace as we arrived at 11.45pm and the large crowd were already on the move downstairs to claim their favourite spot in anticipation of the beginning of Pete Tong's set at 1am.. We arrived in time to catch an hour of Davoli's set and boy was I blown away by it! I will be honest and say that I hadn’t heard much about him in the past but its one I will keep an eye out for again and a set that will remain in my top sets list for a long time to come. It was a good switch as Davoli had the main room pumping and the crowd jumping from the word go. Fighting my way through and taking my place front and centre, I was amazed at how jam packed the club already was. The crowd was kept entertained by Ms Motif whilst Davoli held up signs reading ‘love ya’ and whipped off his wig to reveal a closely shaven head at the end of his set. As 1am rolled on, the crowd grew more and more anxious in anticipation of Pete Tong’s arrival. I last saw Tong in August alongside Sasha @ Pacha in Ibiza; I knew what a great set we were all about to experience. At 1am on the dot the moment we had all been waiting for had finally arrived, Tong placed his first record on the turntable and we began the fantastic journey. Dropping tracks like a remix of Shout by Tears for Fears, Pete had the crowd yelling for more! He filled Together @ Home with the most amazing atmosphere and as the end of his set drew near he left the punters panting for more in anticipation of Tiesto's arrival at 3am. There was no mistaking the moment that Tiesto arrived behind the DJ box, there was a huge surge in the crowd as Tiesto's biggest fans tried to make their way to the front in time for his first piece of vinyl to be played. This was my cue to step aside and seat myself beside the lighting guy! The frenzy that overcame the crowd was amazing, with girls even taking their shirts off to reveal colourful bra's with the hope that Tiesto might notice them and take the time to sign their shirts. Much to their excitement, he did take a few minutes to make their dreams come true by signing their carefully selected piece of clothing/vinyl. Tong dropped Rui Da Silva's "Touch Me" a few tracks before the finale with the crowd going wild as he handed over the decks to the world's No.1 DJ. As always Tiesto had the crowd in the palm of his hand, continuing the journey that Tong had started us on so smoothly. Some of the more memorable moments for me during Tiesto's set were when he played Walking on Clouds, Traffic and Urban Train. By 4.30am, about 1.5 hours into Tiesto's set, the crowd hadn’t disbursed at all and it was time for me to make my way upstairs to take a breather. The Terrace was still pumping at this stage with John Devecchis behind the decks. After a spectacular night, at 5.45am it was time for my departure. Making my way back downstairs on the way out, Tiesto was still at it behind the decks with Jumping Jack patiently awaiting his time to step up. One again the Together at Home crew together with Heineken gave us another night to remember for a long time to come..
