Grayarea Feat Erik Shepard - Gravity (Remixes)

  • Grayarea first graced us with the beauty of Gravity a couple of months ago with a limited release of 1000 copies of their Original mix. A peak time vocal number that I’m sure would not have been forgotten once heard, they return with another belting remix of their own, alongside a remix by the legendary Hybrid. First up though is the Grayarea Remix. It begins calmly enough with some solid beats and quirky effects. Shortly into the proceedings though, the kick drum gets chunkier and a gritty electro based baseline soon kicks in. The vocal is shortly heard alongside the electro vibes as it builds towards a breakdown, where melodies fly and the main line of the vocal build yet again towards the re-emergence of the beats. The track then hits the peak for the remainder, soon closing out in style. On the flip is the Hybrid Remix which begins quirkily enough with effected vocal snippets, alongside twisted effects and subtle percussion. Soon enough, those trademark beat patterns of the Hybrid boys kick in alongside some emotive pads. A somewhat evil breakdown soon enters seeing a nice baseline emerge alongside the vocals that are somewhat distorted, factors which continue into the beats that come back in. I quite like this release. It really is a fun package with two pretty up beat and somewhat peak time productions. It’s always good to see Hybrid lend their helping hands with remixes, and the Grayarea reworking is very impressive to say the least.
