Habersham at Private Function

  • Another month (or so), another PF, and yet again the boys have outdone themselves! Back at Two Floors Up, and right at home, a selection of awesome music was split over the two levels, and while numbers were down at first, the floors were both packed come 1am. Great sets downstairs, ''afraid I was on the top level most of the night, but every time I ventured down it was rocking nicely. Rollin'' Connection, the up''n''comers for the night played outstandingly by all accounts, so well done! Aaron was warming up the main floor when I arrived, playing all sorts of classic tunes, I spotted the solid Nick Muir remix of Archive - Numb, and various others. A fantastic set, by the time Habersham came on everyone was more than ready to rock''n''roll! He began with some deliciously deep, ever so groovy techno inspired sounds and kept it all on the level for the first half an hour or so. Then just like that, shifted gears, big bass line, next level. This continued slowly but surely, shifting a gear every 30 minutes or so, the floor heaving enthusiastically. New tunes aplenty, the set was a trainspotter''s nightmare, but a few I managed to ID included Nathan Fake''s enourmous ''Adamedge'', the new MFA single ''Motherload'', a few Habersham originals, ''Follow The White Rabbit'' and ''Body Funk'', and one of the new Andy Page tracks, goodness knows what, but totally amazing would be a lacking description! Easily one of the best sets I''ve heard this year, and definitely one I''ll remember for a long time to come. With Matthew Dekay on the visible horizon, and plenty more to come I''m sure, PF is only getting better.
