Who loves New York? A whole mess of people that’s who (why do I keep asking questions that I answer?), but not as much as fellow New Yorkers: John Creamer, Stephane K, and Lance Jordan. The trio have just launched their newly label off with a banger-of-a-track in Susana’s “Storm is Raising” under the umbrella – NY Love. As the boys continue to shape and design the NY Love sound with what I believe has all the makings of a butterfly-filler classic, Lance Jordan and Etienne Arsenec takes the alias of Dr. T to unleash an afterhours affair with Last Night I Was Dreaming.
You really didn’t think this wouldn’t be a Tribal affair did you? With Creamer and K on the mixing board along side co-owner Jordan, this triple threat mix is a cool cut of tribal stabs with all those deep house keys that craves groovyness. Beats roll along with that tribal stab creeping in closer and closer. As the breakdown occurs, a rising melody plays to seduce you into the hands of NY Love’s sound. Strangely enough, the levels for the vocals seem a bit weaker in this remix than in the original, as it gets a secondary position instead of the music, which shouldn’t happen. Hopefully, you won’t lose your groove with the music because of this. The remix isn’t dark, disturbing, or sinister, it’s just a good House track.
Deep, sensual, and mesmerizing – that’s how you can describe Jordan’s own Original Mix. Lingering with soulful male vocals, this sullen entranced song really shows why electronic music needs more endearing male vocals. The hook is extremely catchy as it draws you in. Filled with sexual lyrics that are classy and downright toxic, you can feel your blood start to boil. Don’t be surprised as you begin to yearn for some fluid action with the opposite sex. Combining the best of house and progressive elements that stirs up images of lavish beauty waiting to be touched. Along with the subliminal melodies and cascading drops of liquid synths, this adds depth and it desires a second listen to find other sounds that you might have missed on the first hearing.
What can I say, you gotto love New York; am I right?
