- All Day I Dream is famous for a deep and delicate form of house music based around subtle details and weepy melodies. In fact, most of the label's catalogue is so delicate that it's hard to imagine its tracks working outside the laidback daytime parties its founder, Lee Burridge, throws around the world. That's not the case with its latest record, Powel's Eolomea, which packs more low-end grunt than most of the tunes you'll find on All Day I Dream. The kind of lush deep house you might find on Dial, these tunes chug more than dazzle, making them solid options for house DJs looking to add some solid grooves to their warm-up sets.
Considering Powel's catalogue stretches from tech house to nu-disco, it's no surprise he's delivered one of All Day I Dream's more upbeat records. "On A Whale Through The Desert" is the EP's highlight, pairing piano and effects-laden vocals with a thumping bassline. It's only around 120 BPM and unmistakably deep house, but it feels too epic for the warm-up—use it at the end of your set to get the greatest effect. "At The Waiting Room" is less busy, swapping vocals for atmospherics and a more pensive piano melody. "Sabath" and "Eolomea" push similarly introspective moods, rounding out an EP with an appeal that should stretch beyond All Day I Dream's diehard fanbase.
