  • I find its hard to find a single these days with good tracks on both sides - so I was pleased to find Hook n sling's new EP delivers the goods. Tight, chunky beats locked in and sliding with bouncy square bass, intricate percussion and (on one track) some lovely vocals. Perfect for mixing - both tracks have everything in the right place - Ghetto Rock holds back the Intermission's full vocal line until well into the track, making sure it gets full impact when it is unleashed. And when it is, the crowd will know about it. These tracks never get boring, Hook n Sling knows how to tease out the goodness in his beats - just when you think you know whats coming after the next breakdown, he puts something else in that you wouldnt have expected but sounds perfectly 'right'. Both these tracks will (and already do) rock any dancefloor at its peak. I dont know why its called an EP when theres only two tracks (seems like a single?) but hey - the price is the same and both tracks rock. I heard this guy's sought after for remixes all over europe now. I want the next EP.
