  • Warp Records signed Home Video without batting an eyelid. Such was the strength of their early material that the label offered them a deal before a live show had even been played. And you can tell why when listening to their latest release -Citizen EP- which injects a dark and brooding electronic vibe to a straight up guitars, drums and synth set-up. Their first release That You Might was originally released on 10" (well worth adding to your crate) and caught the attention of Radio 1's Zane Lowe, Pete Tong and received b-side plays from Andrew Weatherall and Mary Anne-Hobbs. There's a bit of everything on this five tracker, the two brains from New Orleans may well show a hint of love for Smashing Pumpkins, New Order, Kraftwerk and Boards of Canada but they've got their own brand of originality stamped all over these tracks. The vocals are sublime and often trigger thoughts of a credit to Radiohead but the music is exquisitely crafted with super strong basslines and synths that are layered to create a real production masterpiece. Favourite tracks here are We and In a Submarine. Highly recommended.
