- Come rain, or sunshine (in this case a bit of both), the gang at Defected Records always manages to cook up an outrageously kick ass affair every WMC. Their recipe: take the National Hotel, throw in some industry bigwigs as well as serious music lovers, and have Danny Krivit, Kenny Dope and Simon Dunmore do the mixing. This year, Barbara Tucker hosted the shindig, which although started off a little slow, given the 2 hours of torrential rain, by sunset was reminiscent of those Body & Soul days, with Krivit spinning out funky jive-busting grooves on the decks. Without a doubt, Defected Record's Pool Party certainly injected some soul into this year’s WMC.
