- One would think that the oodles of beats pounding out from every viable sounding board in the city might wind down for a few wee hours at say, dusk, especially in the lobby of a hotel -- hardly. Around 5am in the Marlin Hotel’s reception area is where we found the coveted James Zabiela spinning a whirlwind of breaks and funky beats that had swept an enthused crowd quite literally off their feet. In its third year, the Hallucination Ltd Party, presented DJs Three, Mazi, Damian Lazarus, James Zabiela, Peter Anthony, and Q-Burns, for a highly charged session of underground electro, tech, and everything in between. Zabiela was an outright daredevil - mixing seemingly odd clashes of rock and electro with breaks to create wicked sounds that not only worked, but exhilarated the energy of the crowd track after track. True genius.
