Damien Heck ft. Michelle Chivers - Morning After

  • A child of the maple leaf has strike again as Damien Heck enlist the vocal talents of English beauty Michelle Chivers for the Morning After. Starting the single off is Heck’s Original Mix with its head bobbling breaks, it segues for Chivers ethereal voice, slipping in and out, while Spanish guitar strings race along; a very beautiful track with the guitar strings giving a warm groove that yarns for the summer to arrive. With Chivers adding an element of seduction, the tone of the track feels exactly what it’s intended to – the sounds of the morning after. Though I doubt you would hear breaks as punchy as the original, the track fills you with a sense of innocence. Now, how would a full vocal version of this have sounded like? That is the question that ponders, as my ears would have loved to have heard some lyrics along with the music. Who knows, maybe Heck or Chivers will see this and decide to return to the morning after and further expand on an idea that desires a realization. While the Futurology Mix looks to increase the sensations of the original with beefier breaks, and swirling affects that creates excitement. One dab of sci-fi, one pinch of trance, and this one is the funnier choice for the crowd. As Chivers vocals will have words to say this time around, it gets mudded with Heck’s production, leaving Chivers in the dust. An unfortunate decision as her vocals never gets the attention it deserves, yet it does not mean the piece is weak. Two breaks, but with different sensibilities that will work in the clubs and in the home. Damien Heck has certainly showed he is one to watch with the “Morning After.
