Noorderlicht - C-Jay vs LeRon & Yves Eaux
Label / The Sessions Recordings
Released / June 2005
Style / Progressive/Deep House
Rating / 4

C-Jay hits us with his best release yet. From the man who knows how to get deep, dark and dirty comes an uptemp, very groovy track. It's the super smooth bass beat that I like about this, it never lets up and keeps the track moving at just the right speed. Throw in some amorous vocals over the top and this track is a tune you want to get busy with. Once again the track features C-Jays trademark smooth production. I can see this fitting in perfectly at the start or the end of a set. This man has found a happy hunting ground which is producing some quality work.

The flipside see's Cjay in collaboration with Yves Eaux and LeRon in a remix of Nooderlicht. I have to say it's a very tough call on which one I prefer most but while side A is a deep, very smooth track this side takes that and adds a touch of funk to it. Again it's the pace that grabs you, hypnotecally transporting you to that dance floor deep in the darkness.
Hats off to Cjay, his work is moving and progressing on an excellent path. For any deep progressive house fans out there keep an eye out for his work.
