  • The next Clean & Serene instalment for the month was upon us and judging by the talk – EVERYONE was going, except Betty because no one told her. Tazman greeted us at the door, “Would you like the ‘clean’ or ‘serene’ stamp?” I offered to take ‘clean’ and my friend took the other. “I often wonder about the people who want the ‘clean’ stamp…” Fabmacca was up on the warm-up set with a remix of Tori Amos ‘Professional Widow’ with people subtly having a bit of a boogie in the bar area. Remembering Fabmacca’s promise of shouting beers to the first 10 people to say hi to him, I began my dancefloor assault to Knee Deep ‘Nassau Rules’, ATFC ‘Bad Habit’ and a personal favourite – Alan Braxe & Fred Falke ‘Running/Intro’. A remix of Dee-lite’s ‘Groove Is In The Heart’ got many to flood over to the dance floor and Fabmacca ended with another ATFC song ‘ SleepTalk’. The crowd was truly warmed up and the small dancefloor filled with the eagerness of tonights C&S’ special guest, Shamus. His set started up slow and smooth and the crowd went bananas (or maybe it was the capoeira dancing dude – happy 21st birthday mate) when ‘Rock The Kasbah’ was dropped. Other tunes spotted: Phil Fulder ‘Miami Pop’, Wawa ‘No Problem’ and the set was ended with Basement Jaxx ‘ Do Your Thing’ and Club Fiesta ‘Fiesta’. Shamus sure knows how to work a crowd and those tunes were so booty-shaking, I had to stop momentarily after getting stitches! That hour and a half set definitely wasn’t enough! Jackster took over with a remix of Madonna’s ‘Like a Prayer’ that had the whole crowd singing along. Its a great sight to see a DJ behind the decks, absolutely loving, singing along, arms in air and dancing and interacting with the crowd. Capoeira dude was back when a remix of Jamiroquai’s ‘Canned Heat’ and C&C Music Factory’s ‘Things That Make You Go Hmmm’ was dropped.. crazy guy! Sadly, tiredness and sore feet got the better of me and I couldn’t stay for the last bit of Jackster’s set or Tazman’s. You guys were so lively and energetic, I’m sure you took that C&S spirit to the afterparty at M2M @ Gas! You troopers! Bloody brilliant night. Can’t wait for the next episode. I love you guys.. and I won’t tell Betty…
