- Three weeks before it was released to the rest of the world, Aussie breaks fans were treated to this CD as a teaser to Meat Katie's performance on the Fuzzy's Boutique Tour. This is actually more than a teaser, it doubles as a soundtrack to an awesome breaks night and also a porn movie/one night stand. Porn movie/one night stand? What the f*** (no pun intended)? After reading through the tracklisting of this CD you could almost soundtrack a porn movie to it.
Starting off on the very mellow and deep Paradise People, the mix quickly builds up and moves onto darker territories, Dark Globe & Boy George's "self help" anthem Autoerotic sees the bass getting a little wobbly. Duncan Gray's Eviction gets the bouncy bass treatment and is a highlight track of this mix.
Thing's start to get a little Moist when Meat Katie's own production along with Dylan Rhymes is played next. It's a personal favourite of mine and can be found in unmixed form on the 10 Kilo Calling compilation. Following on from that, Pitch Black's Underground Sound doesn't bullshit around. This sound is straight from the underground and the repeated sample stamps it into your head.
Not losing any momentum Stir Fry's Karma Sammy gets thrown into the mix and uses the same sample that Pnau used on the title track to their Sambanova album, which gets followed on by Botchit & Scarper's tribute to their recently deceased label head Forever Young by Elisabeth Troy 4 Vini. The version included here is the awesome Freq Nasty & B.L.I.M remix which gets really bass heavy, however any of the remixes of this track are quite awesome and it is easy to see why it was given lots of praise by many of the UK's leading dance magazines.
Joseph Keevil seems to have found a new pleasure point in our anatomy - the D-Spot, remixed by Duncan Gray into a tech house tune, this is a good prelude into the next track...
... and what is a breaks album nowadays without a Fingerlickin' track? Soul Of Man's Dirty Waltzer along with it's orgy inspired artwork is a great addition to this mix and fits in very well (no sexual innuendo intended, or maybe there is!) especially with it's 4/4 house beat and disco inspired funk.
It's not all 4/4 that Meat Katie likes to play now, however it is very prominent in this mix, and as much as Fingerlickin' gets added to a lot of breaks mixes, so does Rennie Pilgrem's TCR label and the inclusion of Rennie Pilgrem and Uberzone's anthem Black Widow (VIP mix) gives the compilation a much needed "break" (excuse the pun) from the pounding beats. The Future Funk Squad mix of Koma & Bones' High Rollin gets back into the tribal swing of things and is another highlight of this mix.
At the end of it all, after all the wetness, foreplay, and orgies, we are treated to Meat Katie's Cum Shot. It's time to wipe that jism off your face and stroke the rewind button to start again, 'cos this mix is finished. I wonder if the last track was named that on purpose. I seriously think I need help.
Kingsize really are creating a niche sound for themselves in the breaks scene as a lot of the artists on the roster have moved onto creating beats with that 4/4 sound. Meat Katie once again delivers the goods and produces a mix CD coming straight from the underground and becoming a soundtrack to a clubber's breaks night out much like the Stanton Session did last year. The information leaflet for the CD proclaimed it to be the best breaks mix CD of the year and even though we're only halfway through the year, I'd say it's pretty damn close.
