Tony Thomas - The Love Jam

  • It’s awfully hard to be un-biased towards one of your favourite producers. Tony Thomas is one of the hardest working artist’s you are ever likely to come across - the man must have hundreds of tracks on the go at once with at least two tracks out per month. Two bass heavy percussion-lead bangers are the order of the day. It’s awkward to describe the typical Thomas sound - he some how manages to combine tech / tribal / progressive all in one. Although the later is used in its lightest context (no noodly hands in the air breakdowns here - hell no!) A1 - Love Break It’s often the tribal elements that strike you first however in this case it’s the thunderous bassline that will make your hair stand on end and your feet jump. Coupled with tight rolling drums and conga patterns laced with vocal snippets you are either going to get a huge reaction out of this track or your going to blow some speakers! A2 - Jammin' A stripped down number, running along a similar line to the flip with more metallic tech influences with vocal snippets again cutting through. It has to be Love Break for me personally - A rip roaring return to Honchos for Tony... Ooooh yeah! A2 is more of a DJ tool perfect for laying an a capella over the top to break things up or as a go-between mid-set track.
