This is the first release for Paolo Mojo’s new label, Music Is Freedom. It’s the first of a few releases that are lined up for the label going into 2003, a list that includes flavours of delectable house music from England, America, Argentina, Italy and Holland. To get things rolling, Dutch producer Arno Asmus delivers 2 quality cuts under the guise Organic Soul.
‘Dreamweaver’ is the stronger of the sides in my humble opinion. The tune has a uplifting yet subtle aura throughout. The drums are a strong point to this production, and when they meet with the strings deep into the track, the release hits fever pitch. A very solid record!
‘Lose Yourself’ is a much deeper and darker affair, using the baseline for the strength of the track. Arno’s drums are again quality, but the techy baseline with delayed effects is the key sound in this tune. We are greeted with a lovely breakdown 4 minutes in with stuttering drum loops. A good tune, of which many will find to be the highlight of the release.
MIF is off to a good start with this release, and it seems that the label will get better with the quality assured for future releases. The guidelines are simple, “If I would play it - then it will be released.” says Paolo.” The only criterion is quality”.
