Like The Deserts Missed The Rain - EBTG
Released / Out now
Style / Vocal 'soft' house
Rating / 4.5

“20 years, 150 songs, eight million records. Someone had to make sense of it. Ben Watt and Tracey Thorn look back in their new personal retrospective CD and DVD”

Everything but the girl formed in 1982 and since the release of their debut album 'Eden' in 1984 have gained the respect of the public and piers through original sounding songs. Known most for their ‘Amplified Heart’ Album in 1994, which featured the worldwide #1, ‘Missing and their classic ‘Walking Wounded’ long player which spawned four UK hits the duo have had exposure through an abundance of music related media channels. However, with one platinum and eight gold UK albums would you really expect anything else.

This retrospective album ‘Like The Deserts Missed The Rain’ is a brilliant collection of well known songs, B-side tracks and interwoven pieces of musical bliss to the soft spoken ear. Unmixed, the breaks between each song giving you a chance to appreciate the beauty of the last and prepare for the new.

The album works so well as a complete package, I won’t single out a tune which raises the bar and just suggest you put it in the CD player, press play and enjoy the sounds of one of the worlds great musical duos.
