  • As we headed out to a Friday night at Fabric LIVE we knew we were in for a huge one. Each room was packed full of quality top class residents, and unfortunately we couldn’t be everywhere at once. Holding back the urge to listen to drum and bass, we spent a huge portion of our night in Room One, lured in by the lineup of Plump DJs, The Scratch Perverts and Stanton Warriors. The night started with the Stanton Warriors, as per usual laying down some solid break beat sounds and enjoying the fun in the DJ booth. The Audio Bully’s took to the stage in what was to be a live performance, but unfortunately they were initially held back by a few technical hitches, and we chose this moment to go for a stroll and check the atmosphere in the other rooms. Room Three was providing the sheltered entertainment from the rest of the club room with a line-up that featured First Rate, DJ Biznizz, Richy Pitch, Matt Smooth, and Rob Mac. Off to Room Two we went and the Drum and Bass sounds were being driven by some of the genre’s best. Andy C, DJ Marky, Photek, Adam F, Moving Fusion, and Addiction with the MC support of CW, DRS and 2Shy were on the list tonight and as we entered the room it was nothing but quality, with a packed and hugely appreciative audience soaking up the tunes. Upon re-entry of Room One we found a jammed in crowd enjoying the sounds of the Audio Bullys who were now running on overtime, with the Plump DJs on the other side of the room patiently awaiting their cue to begin. And upon entry to the airwaves via the huge sound system in the main room at Fabric the Plumps had the place rocking within moments. Loads of big tracks and great breakdowns fueled their great set, all of course leading up to the Scratch Perverts set that was soon to begin. The time was now somewhere around 4:00am and the Scratch Perverts’ array of technical gadgets (turntables) was now fully setup, allowing them to take to the stage. This being the first time I was to witness this trio known around the world for their team scratching abilities, I was excited to say the least. Pushing our way to the front, we watched in amazement as the Perverts demonstrated what can only be described as wizardry on the decks, mixing breaks, rap and funky garage sounds into an incredible set. The maximum capacity crowd was kept at boiling point over the entire two hours, and at the end were left screaming for more. Fabric LIVE is deservedly one of London’s most popular nights out. The quality of the residents combined with the sheer energy and atmosphere of the club keep the punters coming back on a week after week.
