- Get past the name of Marek Stuczyński's moniker, which is redolent of some dodgy pub tribute act, and you'll be rewarded with a quirky slice of titanium-tough house music. On "Bomby"—which caused something of a kerfuffle at Sónar this year—the Kraków producer mixes plucked strings that gather like swarming bees with galloping hi-hats. Its most potent weapon, however, is a warped vocal that simply repeats the title, twisting its pitch in lunatic fashion.
Linkwood's remix finds Nick Moore, a producer of classic Detroit house-style grooves, leaving nothing but fragments of the original's vocal intact. Held together by a beautifully fluid bassline, Moore douses it in a vat of cloudy pads with a subtle, motoric groove underpinning it. Two very different approaches, both with considerable merits.
