Gary Dubbs - No More Ghosts / Twilo Moods

  • Gary Dubbs returns to Coldtap Recordings under his own name to deliver a 2 tracker release, that sees the label return to stores for the first time since late 2002. Both tracks have seen support from Hernan Cattaneo, John Digweed, Steve Lawler and Nick Warren just to name a few. No More Ghosts features firstly, and may be familiar to those who have Hernan Cattaneo’s South America Mix. The production features some smooth atmospheric sounds that ride the background of the production, as well as vocal samples and a fusion of tribal and clattering drums. The track has a pretty smooth flow throughout with the occasion break, and is designed for the early set moments. On the flip is Twilo Moods. This production has more peak moments of the two and builds early on with a solid 4/4 beat and smooth humming pads. A nice synth melody is the focus of this production, and this track would no doubt fit well deep into a set. The quality is there to hear with ‘Twilo Moods’, which is in my opinion the stronger production of the two. No real standout sounds so to speak, but the subtleties of the production combine to deliver a track that is sure to do some dancefloor damage.
