Random Method EP

  • Following the very impressive Afterlight EP on Sub Rossa, the label is now set to showcase the talents of Random Method who is made up by Austin Tanney and Richard Fox. 3 original productions in this release that all demonstrate the talents of this duo. The chunky drum beat and smooth strings of Earth & Green appears first up as the production flows along nicely with some deep elements. A vocal sample appears in parts throughout, however, the track maintains a similar flow throughout without any real peaks in the production. Stasis begins with some nice tribal influenced drums as well as a deeply embedded baseline that works underneath the seams. Smooth pads enter the production as well as a subtle vocal wail that maintains a very nice flow. A lovely production here that would fit nicely into the early parts of a set. On the b-side, Chaos & Curve is the most upbeat production of the three. A very chunky pattern of drums gets the production away with a dark and deep baseline soon giving the track a great funk, as well as a subtle vocal sample. Some nice pads enter, and really shine in the breakdown as they gain in intensity, but once the breakdown is over, the track really takes off. A great production this and one that rounds of a smooth release. Very solid house music here on Sub Rossa from Random Method, with the b-side really shining in particular.
