Capoeira Twins - Manuela

  • Hope Recordings return to the forefront with a drum and bass release by the Capoeira Twins. The a-side sees the vocal talents of Kae Dee ride the track Manuela. The pace is quite calm in this track as Latin tinges ride the production, while the soothing vocals of Kae Dee add a nice soul element to the track. The track flows smoothly for the first few minutes until a nice baseline really gives the production a dirty edge, and an element that is sure to work on the dancefloors. The track maintains its nice flow, with the deep sounds keeping it gritty while the vocals give it a more popular appeal. On the flip is Southpaw. Slightly more up-tempo, the beats are more break and bouncy. Vocal loops smother the track, as do bouncy baselines, but all in all this is quite a quirky and nice little production, which rounds off quite a nice release by hope. Two quite different productions by the Twins, with a nice structured vocal track on the a-side, and a quirky breaks number on the b-side. Worth a look indeed.
