- Similou are part of the increasing array of talent to come to the fore from Sweden - Gothenburg to be exact. They are made up of Erik Niklasson (half of Plej) and Joel Erikson (aka JOL), and together they've made an airy track called 'Supernova Sky', adding a touch of warmth to the cold European winter. Vocals come from Yukimi Nagano (Koop, Stateless), whose soulful chorus, backed by strings and birdsong guitar, worms its way into your head and stays there.
The flipside 'Dreamwalk' is just as good, a melting vocal with a slow-burning beat. Excellent stuff - it's been out a little while now but check it out if you can. On this evidence the duo's debut album will be well worth hearing.
