- Satoshi Tomiie’s SAW label returns to great from with the ever reliable Chab and his latest offering, My Memory. Many will be familiar with this track from the recent Sander Kleinenberg Renaissance compilation with featured the brilliant Romania edit from the b-side.
The Romania Edit on the a-side is where this release shines. The track begins at a soft volume and soon comes into life with a roaring baseline and vocal effect. Smooth epic synths merge into the track before the track again raises the velocity that sees an electro vocal line intertwine itself with a warm emotive melody. The first half remains beautifully melodic before the track then takes a different direction and become dark and deeper with a expanded baseline and elements from the original coming back into the track.
Mix 2 is a tough chugging production with the usual grittiness of a Chab production. A good solid baseline keeps the track moving while some arpeggiated synth rumbles murmur in the background. A unique spoken vocal gives the track a unique feel while the musical elements simply flow with no real fluctuations.
A quality release from Chab, and well worth it just for the brilliantly arranged a-side.
