Dirty Bass – Tears In Rain / Decay Returns

  • Dirty Bass, the man who took the progressive world by storm with the debut release on his label getting major plays by Sasha, returns for a third time on his own imprint to deliver two more solid peak time tracks, with the a-side in particular again impressing just as much as his debut release did. Tears In Rain takes no time in setting the mood as some finely paced drums build the track. Its not too long though before the deep penetrating baseline soon takes control, with the hats increasing alongside it. The baseline sees a change in note that works very well as it builds and builds to the only break in the track, that sees a subtle, but devastating vocal sample add a cracking uplifting vibe to the track. The track then hits it speak from here on, with rippling melodies, the thunderous baselines and the vocal sample all uniting in a fine way. Decay Returns is on the flip, and it invariably gets a lot tougher. The drums have a big tribal feel to them, and the base is quite dark and evil (although not as large as the 002 release one might add). Yet again though, this is a late night track at the very least, and again showcases Dirty Bass’ trademark sound. Another quality release form the London based Techno boys. Look out for the a-side which is purely devastating as a peak time progressive production, and the chunky b-side as well.
