Roman Lieske - Zoomer

  • The next release on Solar Recordings out of Spain comes from Roman Lieske and his deep and chunky house cut in Zoomer. The Original Mix on the a-side sees Roman deliver a pretty nice smooth progressive house production. One of those typical Digweed style records that is full of nice clean percussion, simple melodic hooks and a nice deep but subtle baseline. Pretty solid throughout, except for a pretty minimal breakdown featuring stabbing subtle synths. The track maintains a pretty good flow and is one of those records that is sure to sound well mixed in with the right tracks around it. On the flip is the Advance Mix, and it is unfortunately a little too similar to the a-side for my liking. Again the track features some pretty solid percussion, and for the most part is almost identical to the Original. There is a noticeable increase in the smooth synths that reside in the loops of most of the production, especially after the main breakdown where they seem to increase in presence. Not a bad release for Solar, and for me, it is the nice and efficient, and not too empowering a-side that does the trick for me.
