Lost Daze - International Underground

  • Next up on the Sucker DJ’s imprint comes a release from Lost Daze. Already seeing support from the likes of Erick Morillo (it features on his Subliminal Winter Sessions Mix), the track has made a strong impact in the US already. International Underground is the release and it also comes armed with a Sucker DJ’s remix. First up though is the Original, and although the track does have some good point, it lacks a bit to make it a memorable production. The good points are the solid drum patterns and chunkyness of the overall track. The main vocal sample is a little bit weak, however the solid baselines more then make up for this. The Sucker DJ’s Mix on the flip unfortunately makes a lot of use out of the vocal. Despite this their musical aspect are quite solid, with a rumbling baseline providing the highlights as well as some crisp beats and twisted effects, especially in the main breakdown. Following this is Out of Daze which is a pretty slowed down retro track. Smooth synth patterns meet a very retro vocal pattern making this track sound like it was blatantly stolen from the early 90’s for this release. A very very interesting release, especially Out Of Daze. Nevertheless it must get some bonus points for trying something quite daring on the b-side.
