This little arms race has produced the finest festival hits of the last few years, though there's a formula starting to emerge from the chaos. So, "Blind Date," the second collaboration between the three artists since 2019's colossal "Bromley," pretty much does what you'd expect it to.
There's a bouncy garage beat and a cascading, repetitive vocal—this time by ABRA, taken from her 2015 track "Feel"—that weathers a storm of furious midrange and buzzing bass frequencies. The track teeters dangerously close to combustion with what sounds like 100 basslines layered together, more on top of more until the tension gives way and the drums saunter back in. "Blind Date" is no doubt another one of those hands-in-the-air tracks that lingers in your memory after a set, but it also feels a little predictable in the realm of blockbuster summer tunes. But hey, they're only human, and "Blind Date" is the kind of thing that would make the career of a lesser-known producer.
