- As a core member of Regenerate Music, a Mumbai-based crew that's been pushing deep, leftfield techno in India since 2013, Chhabb has become something of a genre specialist. His DJ sets nod to groups like The Bunker New York, with breakbeat, industrial and acidic streaks, and his cerebral productions are even more compelling. There's a hypnagogic quality, that illusory state in between waking and sleeping, to his work. Arriving on a charity compilation for Gaza, his latest track is an otherworldly, six-minute odyssey. Gristly static, darting synths, some animal noises and muffled grunts are layered over kinetic percussion, as the endlessly looping rhythms ratchet up the tension. Disorienting yet tactile, this is Chhabb in his element.
