Nark - Queer Acid Energy

  • Sensual acid with a killer Hard Ton remix.

  • A long-time staple of Seattle's queer scene and founder of the relatively new club Massive, Nark (AKA Kevin Kauer) is one of those DJs who holds up the country's alternative dance music scene outside its usual hotspots. (He moonlights in Palm Springs, too.) Kauer is also an increasingly talented producer, and his latest EP, Queer Acid Energy, offers up one of his best cuts yet: sweaty, undulating with just the right amount of squelch, and a hand drum-heavy techno groove that makes it suitable for both the warehouse and the circuit party. The real pick of the litter is the Hard Ton remix, with its flamboyantly swirling synths, driving EBM bassline and vocoder vocals—a splash of colour and vibrancy that lives up to the title.
