- Almost a year after the last PFN (Proper Filthy Naughty) release, Future Burn, which got massive respect and airplay from the likes of Rennie Pilgrem, Tayo etc, PFN are back with To The Beat, which should also be another hit for them.
Side A. Original Mix
Electro styled breaks on a slightly minimal but techy tip. Lots of techy overtones with this one and heavy use of the vocoder. It uses very familiar tech stabs and samples throughout that a breaks fan would feel at home with this tune. Luvin' it more with each listen! Those who are familiar with the new Si Begg track on Botchit Breaks 5, will love this tune.
Side B. The Light Remix
PFN transforms into his other guise - The Light for this remix. This mix is on a dark progressive house tip and has a nice slow build up at the beginning - something which you'd expect from a progressive track. Good thing it keeps the vocodered vocals as it sounds awesome to hear a robot like vocal saying "Check this out, to the beat y'all!" to a dope tune - you'd want to say the same thing at the same time! A bit more melodic than the original, with a synth melody layered in as well as keeping some of the techy elements. Those photon laser shot sounds are wicked!
This is an awesome release and should please fans and DJ's of both breaks and progressive house.
