About shortyg / I have been Djing, Mastering and Producing under different guises including Shorty G and Electric Boogie and been on the circuit for nearly 20 years starting as a promoter during the early 90's in the South Coast. It was during these early years where I got the bug to spin alongside the DJ's I was working with and have never stopped.
In the studio I have been lucky to work with people in the industry I have respected in both live music and studio production where I have learnt my craft and was infected with my passion for analogue mastering.
I am currently work alongside Yam Who? at ISM Records, mastering co-producing and getting involved in anything else that needs to be done to help put out what we believe is quality music with high end production.
My latest project a collaboration with Yam Who? is a nod toward Detroit, whether that be the deep soul of Angelo Bond, Norman Whitfileld''s disco funk Nytro sessions, Elecrtfying Moijo's legendary radio show ,Theo Parish's eclectic DJ sets, the early originators of Techno, Jeff Mills, Kevin Saunderson, Juan Atkins , these elements and more have shaped our joint project "Brothers Young". The first release will be out in March on the ISM album sampler alongside tracks from PBR Streetgang, Ron Basejam and Yam Who?
