Taking over the old Mist Ultra Club, Audio SF is a SoMa club with "a nod to the past but an eye to the future," as they put it. Designed with the interior of a '70s Cadillac in mind, the decor of the 3500 square foot club is all deep warm shades of red and gold. There's a Funktion-One system to rock the sunken dance floor (outfitted with rubber to make it easier on dancers' feet), and a downstairs restaurant, Bergerac, that can be combined to give Audio a total capacity of 650.
In April 2017, Audio underwent an upgrade to their Funktion-One sound system to incorporate 3D surround sound and lighting with a vibrating floor to create a state-of-the-art immersive experience.
The new sound system was built around Funktion One’s 32” subwoofer, the EVO6 loudspeaker and their 21” subwoofer. The 32” sub goes flat down to 24hz and paired with the 21” subwoofers, it is the new gold standard in bass. The system boasts 54,000 watts of power. This was over 3 times the power of the system it replaced, and is considerably large for a 400-person venue.
