The story of Horst starts in the Middle Ages. Back then the castle was a place for exquisite parties for the local chic. Throughout the years various owners transformed the fortified farm into a moated castle into its final form as we know it know. In the 17th century Horst gained fame as a pleasure ground for Flemish nobles to meet and dance with one another. When years passed, interest in the outmoded castle faded. But thanks to the low interest Horst remained as good as untouched. Now, in 2014, the restoration of the left wing is completed.
