Dublin based DJ, Promoter and Aciitone label boss, promoting quality house and techno through various mediums both home and abroad.
Al started DJing at the young age of 14 and like many Djs his style and taste in music has evolved over time. He began playing tech trance and harder edge sounds on pirate radio stations in Dublin, he hosted a show on kiss fm for more than 2 years and has since went on to play in some of Dublin's most respected venues.
His first club date at the age of 16 seen him play a mixture of house music at club mono which led onto a residency at the Tivoli theaters friday night "i love house". During this time he also played in Dublin's Temple Theatre as well as various other venues around the city. He also began promoting his own parties, running open decks daytime parties plus one offs in Viva bar and then launching the infamous 12ten nights which was in its day one of the best house nights in Dublin city, famous for its energy and good time atmosphere in a very intimate pub club venue.
After the demise of 12ten Al began to run a Sunday daytime event in another venue that was to become one of the most talked about parties in Dublin over recent years. Mixed Salad started out as a small daytime party with a cross section of Dublin Djs on offer. What began as a small event for friends evolved over 4 years into one of the biggest and most talked about daytime events in Dublin that has seen the most talented and respected names come together for truly memorable events with crowds of more than 1200 people at its peak.
Around the same time, in 2005 Al setup, promoted and held residency at Acii Disco, a Saturday club night famous for its high energy weekly events and loyal following. The twisted house, minimal and techno night seen an array of guests from all over the world play alongside Al and the Acii Disco residents. It also played host to various club swaps from around Ireland and Europe with Al traveling to countries such as Germany, France, Switzerland and Poland promoting the Acii Disco brand. The night has also hosted Dublin's biggest new years eve party "Meltdown" two years running and has featured at at Irelands Electric Picnic festival as well as Techfest, Lovebox and Life festival hosting its own Acii Disco tent in 2008 which was for many the highlight of the weekend.
In 2007 off the back off the by now popular club night Al setup a digital label AciiTone digital, teaming up with Dublin duo Sourcecode the label consisting of three sub labels promotes quality minimal, house, tech house and techno from both Irish and international artists. In only one year since its first release the label now boasts an impressive catalogue of quality electronic music from an array of talented artists and has gained huge global support from top international names. Aciitone is now set to launch the first in a string of much more melodic tracks in 09 as its eagerly awaited Blue lable finally launches in February.
Al continues to promote quality club nights in Dublin and his newest project Rubberband is slowly becoming one of the cities more credible parties. It has already played host to an impressive list of international acts and continues to promote quality house and techno each week in an intimate venue holding just 200 people. In 2009 while Al will continue to Dj regularly in Dublin as well as around Ireland and further afield he is also working as much as possible in the studio, he will continue to promote both his club nights and growing label Aciitone and will also look forward to the release of his first track "Suburb" on AciiTone. He also has plans to launch an Acii web site plus his own management company to promote his in house artists.
Keep an eye out for various good time parties around Dublin and further afield as well as quality future releases from Al and the Aciitone label as well as the possibility of some memorable Al Keegan DJ sets at a club near you...
