Altek's sounds are a blend of Progressive grooves with Trance melodies
El Paso’s own Altek comes from a musical background ever since he was 13 years old. Learning to play the guitar his dream was to be part of a Rock band and share music world wide. His influences include Pink Floyd, Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode, Linkin Park, Filter, Radiohead, Led Zeppelin and Mexican band Moenia. Altek was enlightened not only by the sounds of the guitar but also by the sounds of Synthesizers and knew music was his passion. As the years passed by Altek was introduce to the sounds of electronic music back in 2005 when he first listened to Royksopp’s What Else Is There (Trentemoller Remix) and ATB’s Ecstasy. Digging deeper he came across the sounds of Armin Van Buuren, Airwave, Above & Beyond, Paul Van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, Tiesto, John Digweed, Sasha, Carl Cox, James Holden, Sander Kleinenberg, Deep Dish, Lee Burridge, Damian Lazarus and many more of the great pioneers of dance music. Ever since then he hasn’t looked back and has learned to appreciate the different genres of dance music ranging from deep house, progressive house, minimal, techno, and trance. Altek started DJing in 2006 mostly Trance from labels Anjunabeats, Armada, Alter Ego, AVA Recordings, Black Hole Recordings, Coldharbour Recordings, Enhanced Music, Euphonic Records and many more mainly! As the years progressed and sounds changed Altek’s style has evolved into the deeper realms of progressive house, deep house, and techno. Now residing in Austin, TX and thanks to the help from RealMusic Events, Electric Avenue ATX and Hypersonic Radio, today Altek can showcase his record box at local clubs (Kingdom and Lanai) which contain sounds from Cid Inc, Stas Drive, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Guy J, Guy Barone, Mike Griego, Marcelo Vasami, Andrea Cassino, Anthony Mea, Addex and many more underground house hold names. Production from Altek started back in 2007 when he took piano and music theory lessons which in essence have helped with his understanding of music. After many years of learning and practicing 2014 has shed light on one of Altek’s productions which was a remix called One of Use, One of Them by Lukajieff . You can describes Altek‘s sound as melodic with heavy pad use, deep but with trance elements. 2015 will be a great year for Altek and expect more sounds varying from deep house, progressive house, and trance.
