Conceptual artist and producer, Debbie Døe hypnotizes crowds with warm swinging baselines and surreal sounds. Born in Montreal, derived from Lebanon, she grew up listening to traditional Arabic music while learning Ableton outing her first EP in 2015 called ‘Ahwak’ on DTD.
Inspired by people and theatre, she incorporates a rich subtle energy in her experimental productions, loop-driven spacey percussions, and abstract compositions. She moves minds beyond their imagination making for an unruly dance floor. The interplays between acid jazz and serrated synth lines create a unique live set up in her latest bodies of work. In 2017, she released ‘Clandestine’ on Inclusif, ‘Deeper’ on Galanding, and ‘Je Dance Donc Je Suis’ on Dub’n Ground Records.
She has played at the most respected festivals and venues such as Piknic Electronik, AIM, Igloofest and StereoBar alongside big international names such as Christian Löffler, Chaim, Scuba, Miss Kitten, Culoe De Song, Randomer, Mistress Barbara, Voytek (My Favorite Robot) and many more. While also working as a studio assistant to Pheek, a producer with multiple labels firmly ensconced in the international minimal techno and tech-house communities, she develops new techniques sampling cassette tapes and analog gears. Pixelating cuts and simmering atmospherics are all within a single track of each production.
