Go Periscope is a music collective based in Seattle, Washington. We specialize in indie-electronica music that features dance-inducing melodies, analog synthesizers, surf-tone guitars, and progressive, sprightly vocals.
Joshua Frazier, Florin Merano, and Seth Bolin of the Seattle indie-electronica collective aimed to make a music rich in lyrical narratives and darker textures. With songs like Wasted Youth's, “Burning Out the Sun,” they succeed not only in that but also in building wintry synthesizer-founded soundscapes that don’t succumb to '80s retrospection, save for sublime and shadowy overtones that might appeal to recovering progressive-rock enthusiasts from that decade. Their fetching indie-single “Wasteland” dips into a cosmopolitan sound that both paves and explores the futuristic directions of dance-pop. Go Periscope dips into contemporary sounds with songs like “Black Light Masquerade” the peppers in hints of dub-step and electro-house, while the similarly infectious “Break Free” bestows a deeper wobble without going full bass-drop. Go Periscope is EDM first and foremost, but songs like “Silver Wings” pulse with a European-flavored pop sophistication that would sit well on a mix alongside bands like Air, Daft Punk, and Phoenix. “Make Believers” works with wistful singing over haunting melodies and a throbbing, seductive rhythm. Go Periscope is pushing their sound further by continuing to humanize their brand of electronic music.
