Mark Jackus is a techno and house DJ. His sound is a journey through all different electronic music styles, always finding the right vibe and the connection to the crowd.
With more than 20 years DJ experience, Mark Jackus creates unique sounds, influenced by the different experiences with numerous world famous DJs, on top being an all night long set with Jeff Mills and B2B set with M.A.N.D.Y./Phillip. Mark Jackus’s style was strongly influenced by the Hall of Fame of House Music History and by artists as Derrick May, Kevin Sauderson, Armando, DJ Pierre, Sven Vath and Laurent Garnier.
Mark started a DJ career at the age of 14 and had the first gigs when he was 15 under the name DJ aMaZe. Born and raised in Dortmund, one of the Graffiti culture capitals of Europe, he was a part of the big Hip Hop and Breakdance scene. That is when he touches his first Acid House Vinyls: “Turn up the Bass” of Tyree Cooper, “Black out” of Lil Louis or “Let’s Go” of Fast Eddie and discovers passion for house music. Soon he started to play and reside in clubs like Planet, Unit, Phutur Club, or Playground. As his career was growing, he decided to quit his Football Club in the highest junior league in Germany and devote his life for the one behind the desks.
In 1996, he started his first studio internship in Denmark Entertainment where he worked with the legendary ATARI and learned about sampling, studio and sound machines.
In 2003 Mark work with a musician and producer Massimo Santucci. Massimo’s experience with jazz music and Mark’s DJ skills and fresh club experience lead to the releases in 2010 under Jackus & Santucci on Insert Coin Rec. that were supported by the DJs like Richie Hawtin, Martin Eyerer, Satoshi Tomiie and Erick Morillo.
2004 was marked by a significant first Vinyl of DJ aMaZe – “Black Diva” on Trust your Tribe Records. Many other releases on international labels like Insert Coin, Baroque, Distinto, Tropical Beats followed with the support of many DJs: Mark Night, Steve Lawier or Superflu.
In 2006, Mark made a new step by creating a project called CUSCUS. Not only it stands for a series of events and a record label since 2012, but also it brings attention to Protection of Wildlife by raising money and collaborating with the organizations such as WWF or Green Music Initiative. With this concept, Mark Jackus participated in Loveparade 2008. In 2009, CusCus was awarded by UNESCO as an innovative and sustainable project. Since 2011, CusCus is an integral part of Juicy Beats Festival in Dortmund, bringing quality electronic music to its own techno floor for 4 years already.
The first release under the name Mark Jackus "Exit the Void" on Kappele Records was released in 2012, charted by Shlomi Aber and Steve Parker on Beatport.
In 2013, Mark moved to Berlin where he continuing his career focusing on international events.
Mark Jackus works with Lithuanian duo Golden Parazyth. The beginning of this partnership was marked by a release “Hello My Friend” in 2010 on Groove On Music, with the remix of Miami House Legend George Morell. In 2014, Mark Jackus and Marcus Sur together with Golden Parazyth released “In the night” on Noir Music, that was remixed by Timo Maas, Tiger Stripes and ED ED that proved to be a very successful release. In 2015, “In the Night” Vinyl release party was celebrated at Opium Club in Vilnius, Lithuania.
Now Mark Jackus concentrates on new releases projects and his birthday party planning – that always happens to be a successful event with names such as Jeff Mills, DJ Pierre, President Bongo or Ida Engberg.
He started 2016 with an Asia tour (Koh Samui,Koh Chang,Kuala Lumpur) and end up, with playing for Sven Väth World Tour in Bangkok.
