Omri Smadar is a Tel Aviv based musician/dj/producer, also known as Libra Discotheque.
He is considered to be one of the city’s most diverse underground scene figures, and one with a musical resume that you don’t meet very often:
A Classical & Jazz pianist, a composer with a major in Music Composition And Theory, a Reggae Sound System MC, a song writer, a music teacher, a highly acclaimed remixer, and a talented DJ with a keen ear for Deep House, Oriental cuts, obscure Disco and basically whatever is out there on the left field of the electronic dance music.
His music are played by Red Axes, Roi Perez (Panorama bar Resident), Moscoman, Acid Arab, Mehmet Aslan and more.
Omri is currently working on his first non-electronic Album, collaborating with Tel Aviv's top Indie musicians. The first single from the album was released in Jan 18
Smadar is also known as Libra Discotheque - a dj collective with him as the producer - and under this alias he often releases his re-edits and remix work. Libra Discotheque's edits catalog is filled with world wide goodies - From obscure Arabic music to Indian chants, Afro Beat gems and Brazilian Disco.
As a DJ, you can find him spins regularly at Tel Aviv’s underground famous spots. including The Block, Bootleg, Breakfast Club, Alphabet & Beit Maariv.
