Chicago-based DJ, Producer and Label Owner.
My name is Lary Saladin, better known as Saladin and as Dirty Lary. I am based out of Chicago and I am an Electronic Music producer. I grew up to the sounds of 80’s New Wave, Italo-Disco, House and Guns N’ Roses.
I began my career in the music industry at the age of 17 writing lyrics for other artist and eventually became a vocalist myself. This led to live performances in multiple USA cities. I’ve had the opportunity to share the stage with Rob Base & DJ E-Z Rock, Jessica Eve (Who Da Funk), Delta 9, Hyperactive, Mr. Gene Hunt, Paul Johnson, D-Unity and more.
Early in my career, I was mentored by the renowned producer, Marc “M.doc” Williams who has worked with major labels and artists including Janet Jackson, Madonna and many more. Early in my career I also worked on many projects with producer Joshua Collins, known for his Wonderboy releases and releases that helped build the SHR/UC Muzik catalog. I was also mentored by the late, Mario Alayan of Strictly Rhythm.
My original production ranges from hard-driven and dark techno, deep progressive and big room electro. I am no stranger to the multiple sub-genres of EDM music. I am influenced heavily by the sounds of 80’s new wave and I credit my passion and musical pursuit to many influences including: Giorgio Moroder, Prince, Depeche Mode, Maceo Plex, New Order and Kavinsky to name a few. I love adding different influences to my production to make it modern and cutting edge with a twist of older flavors.
I have had over 75 releases over the year on multiple record labels world wide. I have worked with multiple vocalists worldwide as well, including recent projects with Eia, a pop vocalists from Brunei and renowned EDM vocalist, Christina Novelli. After many years of working hand-in-hand with multiple record labels, in 2012 I decided to launch my own record label, Phunk Junk Records and eventually in 2016 another label, KRUNCH.
As far as my career as a DJ, I have been blessed with the opportunity to play gigs all over my hometown as well as multiple cities in the midwest area of the USA. I have been featured and supported by multiple magazines and blogs including: 5 Magazine, Iconic Underground Magazine, EDM Sauce, EDM Nation, The Chicago Insider, 312 Audio, Behind The Decks and Only The Beat. I also am a self-published author and recently began writing music business articles for my blog on my official website.
I have had appeared on a huge amount of mix shows and FM radio stations over the past few years including: Electric Playground, Dance Factory Radio, Fnoob Techno, Strictly Dance Radio, Cubase-FM and more.
My current goal is to keep up to date with this craft and help strive be a pioneer in the modern dance music scene and underground. I strive to make unique music that not only rattle the nightclubs but glide across the radio airwaves. Going forward, I am constantly working on modern music infused with an old school influence.
I support the underground dance music scene worldwide, 100%
