Red Rackem, Kid Who, Alex Rajkovic
Slo motion house and disco with
Red Rackem [ Tirk / Deep Freeze]
Over the last couple of years Danny has released housey disco as Hot Coins, Detroit techno and two step vibes as Marlinspike and uses his original Red Rack’em moniker for wonk hop and beatdown house, finding homes on some of the underground’s coolest labels such as Tirk, Society, Deep Freeze, Untracked and Soft Rocks.
He’s had props and plays from the likes of Carl Craig, Unabombers, Todd Terje, Rob Da Bank, Greg Wilson, Zane Lowe, Mary Anne Hobbes and Gilles Peterson – who invited Danny to spin at this year’s Worldwide Awards and then broadcasted his set on Radio 1. Nice.
Gigwise his resume includes Bestival, Snowbombing, Matter and this Summer will see him play at both Glastonbury and The Big Chill. Danny is also in demand as a support DJ for live acts and has recently warmed up for the likes of Fat Freddys Drop, Amp Fiddler, Dwele and Flying Lotus.
His music releases have been equally well received with massive Radio 1 support for his remix of The Joubert Singers ‘Stand on the World’ and his new single for Deep Freeze, ‘Crowd Scene / Picnic’ sold out in the first week of its release. The coming months will see more singles for Untracked, Deep Freeze and Autodiscoteque and work continues for his Hot Coins LP on Tirk and the Marlinspike album.
As a DJ, Danny is a true purveyor of ‘joining the dots’, having that enviable knack of finishing his set in a completely different territory to where he started it. He is also steadily building an international audience through his popular fortnightly Smugglers Inn podcast which is available to download from his website.
Kid Who [ Fine Art ]
One of the newest additions to the Fine Art roster, Kid Who aka Louis Jacquet is a young master of the re-edit. We know very little about him other than he's a very nice chap, and he likes cool tunes at the right tempo.
His rather nifty re-edits are all on this page here: http://www.kidbreaks.blogspot.com/
Alex Rajkovic [ Slo Jam / BOE party / Masstransit ]
Founder and resident of the Masstransit parties that ambled over several years from Cafe 1001 to various warehouses dotted around Shoreditch, Alex Rajkovic is currently focused on production and playing the occasional set of detroit beatdown and continental house for various outfits in the east-end of london; most notably for his pal Ben's BOE records residency at Roadtrip.
Slo Jam is a new project and one that will see booking from a wealth of weird and wonderful DJs and producers spanning the spectrum of slo-motion excitement.
