Christian Vance [Perspectiv Records/Haul Music]
The layered, emotionally driven sounds of Christian Vance are instantly recognisable. Performing solidly over the last decade as a live electronic music act in various forms within the Australian electronic music community, he has gained the respect of many artists and DJs from around the globe. Having been booked as the main support act for DJs including Carl Craig, Joris Voorn, Kenny Larkin, Derrick May, Kevin Saunderson, Jeff Mills, and live artists such as Aril Brikha, Alex Smoke, Vince Watson and Fabrice Lig, his ability lies not only in entertaining but also drawing the crowd deeper into his own sound. Each set is organic, unique. He chooses to take people on an excursion into his sensual world of electronic dancefloor improvisation.
It has also been announced that a mix from his second EP "Chase the Night" is to be featured on the next Global Underground released mixed by Carl Cox. Considering only 12 months have passed since his debut release Christian is fully realising the years of live electronic performance through quality releases. Who knows what he may come up with next??
Deepchild [Get Physical/Trapez/Freerange]
Touring top billing dj set along-side the likes of Richie Hawtin and Green Velvet (at the massive EXIT Festival, Serbia) Jeff Mills (Tribal Sessions in Leeds), Jesse Rose, Dixon and Sebo K (for Jesse’s “Made to Play” monthly at Berlin’s legendary Panorama Bar), M.A.N.D.Y (Watergate, Berlin), Ewan Pearson and Will Saul (SONAR, Barcelona) to remix work from New Order, to techno superstars Booka Shade (voted best act and best record label, Get Physical, in dance bible IDJ last year), there’s much that can be said for this genre-mashing producer.
If the increasingly demanding international schedule of weren’t enough (try playing Germany and then Kuala Lumpur in the space of 4 days!), a continuing string of highly successful 12?s on labels and remixes have well and truly solidified deepchild’s reputation as a serious ‘contender’ in the saturated international dance-music community.
For the last 10 years Michelle has been involved in the music industry to some extent. Working for FUGA, Beatport.com (Berlin), Buzzin Fly Records (London), Phonica Records (London), SONYBMG Australia, Eyelash Records (her own label 2002-2005), worked in records stores 'Central Station' and 'Savage', hosted on radio shows, 'Rhythm FM' and 'FBI' (Sydney).
After having held residencies at YU, Sounds On Sunday, Home, Tank, Chinese Laundry in Sydney, Michelle decided to travel overseas, which is where she was introduced to a whole new sound and world of DJing. Here she played in Valencia at the Electrospalsh Festval along side Booka Shade, Mandy, DJ T and Phonique, then travelled Ibiza for the summer playing for Manumission in the Coco Loco room. In 2008, Michelle was invited to play at 'Love Parade' in Germany alongside Time Green, Ewan Pearson and Yousef. In 2009, Michelle became resident for Berlin's newest club, Dice and has hosted many gigs there inviting producers such as Pezzner, Chris Duckenfield, Morgan Geist and Huake Freer to play with her.
