In an exclusive collaboration between international charity MAG International and HearHere we proudly present a special headline show from critically acclaimed Wrexham four-piece Gallops, with support from Leeds duo Worriedaboutsatan and a special 2 hour DJ set from Andrew Hung, one half of industrial electronica act F**k Buttons.
Music Beats Mines is a three-month-long nationwide festival of music, poetry and the arts to raise funds for MAG (Mines Advisory Group) and their mission to clear landmines, weapons and other remnants of conflict for the benefit of communities worldwide. Between September and December 2010 we will be asking people all over the country to hold events for MAG under the banner of Music Beats Mines. The
aim of the events is to raise vital funds for MAG’s lifesaving work across the world.
MAG is currently working in 16 countries worldwide including Vietnam, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Iraq, Lebanon, Sudan, Angola and the Congo. Most recently, MAG moved into Gaza to work on emergency clearance operations after the escalation in violence in late 2008. Your support will help MAG to continue saving lives and building futures.
"Gallops are where live electronics and jagged guitars meet on the floor and thrash the s**t out of each other until neither one is left standing. Seamlessly blending organic and synthetic in a cohesive manner, while showcasing progressive song-writing without alienating the listener. This is as much for headphone listening in a dark room as it is for festival dance-offs. Taking influence from such drastically varied artists (Aphex Twin, Fugazi, Vangelis, Sun-Ra, Steve Reich...) goes someway to explaining the provocatively unique shape of this, their 5 track debut EP, which firmly stakes a claim on behalf of the 4 piece as 1 of the UK's brightest hopes." "Gallops; an instrumental four piece from Wrexham sound like the four horses of the apocalypse, listening to God Speed you Black Emperor!..." LOUD AND QUIET

Worriedaboutsatan comprises of Gavin Miller and Tom Ragsdale. The band's mixture of rock and electronic genres can be attributed to their musical influences, which give equal importance to post-rock bands such as Explosions in the Sky and Mogwai as well as electronic dance music artists, such as Underworld and Trentmoller. Their music has appeared on Steve Lamacq's 6 Music show, Tom Robinson's Introducing and Mary Anne Hobbs' Experimental show.
"the percussion is manicured yet spritzy, with the baroque cadences of spitting rain. periodic vocal samples are hung about in hazy washes, making it sound a bit like Burial for english-lit majors... they got the album title right- they've arrived." Pitchfork.com
