Boat Party with Desyn Masiello (6pm - 10pm):
On Saturday 11th June 2011 it's all aboard the good ship Nuestra Casa for our first ever boat party on the Thames. The nautical naughtiness begins at 6pm sharp when we will set sail from Temple Pier, and head east taking in some of the most famous London landmarks - all to the backdrop of uplifting, summery tunes provided by the Nuestra Casa resident DJs.
Then as the sun begins to set over the London skyline, our headline DJ Desyn Masiello will take centre stage and take us on a voyage through every shade of underground dance music. We think his effortless mix of tribal rhythms, lush melodies and uplifting vocals sums up the Nuestra Casa sound perfectly and we can’t wait to hear him rock the boat!
Once described by John Digweed as "the man that never sleeps", it is a testament to Desyn's hard work and ability to unearth original and undiscovered threads in the tapestry of house music that gains him so much recognotion and respect from his peers. Desyn exploded on to the scene in 1999 thanks a brilliant mix CD, to which he devoted a huge amount of time and love preparing. He sent the mix out to a few random internet message boards, but it was so well received that after a few months it had been passed all around the world and ended up on the laps of various influential promoters and DJs.
Desyn, although completely unknown at the time, began to be inundated with international gig requests. From his first gig abroad in 2001 in Helsinki, to his chaotic global schedule today, it was all sparked off from that one mix CD. Since then, Desyn has released numerous mix CDs on some of the most world's most respected labels including Yoshitoshi's 'In House We Trust 3', Bedrock 'OS1', and Balance '008' - with the latter credited as the Number 1 album of 2005 by the UK dance magazine M8. Over the past decade he has continued to develop his two legendary co-owned record labels Alternative Route and Sexonwax. And Desyn is no stranger to the studio either, with his productions 'Feel The Rush' and 'Keep It Real' featuring on Danny Howells '24/7' compilation and his first remix, 'Solar Plexus' was on Deep Dish's 'Global Underground 025'.
Joining Desyn on the decks will be our irrepressible Nuestra Casa residents in the form of the disco-progressive, neo-house dynamic duo BroKen DJs, and the bouncy, tech-funk partnership of Oliver James & Cosmique.
And to cap it all off we will be bringing a state of the art Funktion-One soundsystem on to the boat to make sure the party really goes off with a bang.
So if you fancy kicking your summer off in fine style with fantastic tunes, blazing sunshine and the usual friendly Nuestra Casa atmosphere, then get your tickets now!
This event is now SOLD OUT. Thanks for your fantastic response! Anyone who didn't manage to get a ticket for the boat party is more than welcome to come along to the Afterparty at Bar Vinyl, Camden Town.
