FutureEverything and Hey! Manchester present The Radio Dept. From their critically acclaimed first release 'Lesser Matters', to the 2010 top-rated album 'Clinging to a Scheme', Swedish band The Radio Dept. have continued to make waves among indie aficionados.
The Radio Dept. was formed in 2001 by Johan Duncanson and Martin Carlberg, with the name taken from Johan’s high school band. Swedish indie giant Labrador caught wind of the band with their demo appearing in Sonic music magazine back in 2002, the album 'Lesser Matters' appeared two years later. The band continue to impress fans and critics alike, with 'Clinging to a Scheme' being rated as one of Pitchfork’s top albums of 2010. This year the band released 'Passive aggressive: Singles 2002-2010' - a compilation with 28 songs that collect all single A-sides and a large part of the B-sides. Back touring and back recording - FutureEverything looks forward to their return to Manchester.
