This month there are two reasons to celebrate at DIP: It's the first birthday of Save You Records AND we've moved the party to a new venue which is NOMAD on Old Street :)
May's DIP boasts the combined extensive talent of two artists who have made their impact on the London scene over the past few years namely MarcAshken (Leftroom, FVF, Save You) and Alex Jones (Hypercolour). Both artists have supported and worked with Save You Records and FVF have been working with Marc since 2009.
SAVE YOU Records, aged 1 year: It has been an incredible year for the label, gaining support from the likes of Ewan Pearson, Clive Henry, Marc Ashken, Slam, Alex Jones, Pezzner, Jay Tripwire, Maya Jane Coles and Xpress 2 to name but a few. By hosting a number of strong homegrown artists as well as pioneers from the scene (each attributing to the almost overnight success of the label) a platform has been secured for forward thinking House and Techno fiends alike.
MARC ASHKEN (Leftroom, FVF, Save You)
Recently releasing on Lee Foss & Jamie Jones offshoot label Hot Waves the new digital offshoot of Foss and Jones’ Hot Creations imprint, Marc also has his own vinyl label in the offing.
Marc has made a name for himself as both talented producer and DJ. An album released on the fine Leftroom imprint and various EPs, including being remixed by the likes of Lee Foss and Marc Houle, have confirmed his quality. As a DJ he is uncompromising and his style sits somewhere between house and techno. We welcome Marc with open arms.
ALEX JONES (Hypercolour, Glass Table)
One of the main men behind London uber-label Hypercolour, Alex is one of the most versatile and talented DJs we’ve seen. A true A&R man, he has a phenomenal ear for quality wherever it comes from – whether one of his own cutting edge productions, or a dusty secret weapon from deep in the crates. His penchant for cock nose comedy glasses is the stuff of legends.
Representing DIP on the night are FVF poster-boy AL BLAYNEY, Save You Records' DEADECHO and guests JOE BLACKETT & STURDY (B2B) from Re-Volt.
