It's been a long time coming, but finally the ManMakeMusic label is ready to step out in to the light of day. At the beginning of August MMAKEM001 will hit the shops. Produced by our boy George FitzGerald, it's two wonderful tracks that explore the borders of house, garage and techno, and which set the bar high for future releases on our newly formed label.
In celebration of this joyous occasion we're throwing a big party with Will Saul topping the bill. Will's tracks have been an inspiration to us with their depth, melodic flair and diversity. As the boss of two consistently high-quality labels – Aus Music and Simple Records – and with an album full of exciting collaborations in the pipeline for Autumn, Will is on top of his game right now, and we're honoured to have him down to play. In support is the man who's done more than anyone to bring our label to fruition as both artist and label manager, Mr FitzGerald. Since the last time George was at the Star he's been racking up gigs all over the world, and has been sharpening his skills in some of clublands most hallowed spots, including Berghain and Fabric. On the bill for the night we also have Fold aka Rob Glassett. Rob's been stirring up the London deep house scene as one half of the Homepark team for some time now. His solo work under the Fold alias as both DJ and producer has caught our attention, and we thought he'd be perfect for a ManMakeMusic summer session at the Star.
Basically, this is going to be lively one. We'd advise getting a ticket as they're cheaper and guarantee entry, but if you get their before 9pm you'll also avoid the queue (and get in free). Otherwise, it's £5 on the door.
